The NFL schedule is out. I'm hoping to get it entered this weekend. I still need to do something with the help files (put them online or make them work in Vista), but may try and post up the program by next week depending on how the schedule goes.

Well, I added a link to a Wiki to the top of this page. Not sure if it'll become anything, but it's free and if I can figure out how to easily post a bunch of information (the help files) - I'll put it there so it can be edited by anyone.

Forgot to mention - the 2008 versions of the programs will probably be out in June - it all depends on when the NFL posts the schedule.

So last year I set up this site (using community server ) - but after that I really didn't post, or even check the site to answer posts. The reason was there wasn't much going on early and I lost interest.

Well, this year.... it'll probably be more of the same. I'm going to try and post/add content, but really if it's me and 3 other people, what's the point?

I've also thought about putting up a Wiki, where I could basically put the help file and some faq's - and let you (the users) edit it/update it and make it more useful, but again, I'm not sure it would get much use.

If you think it might help, drop me an e-mail (or post here...but I definitely won't check this often during the off season).

Change Order of Games

So this week CBS took the Indy game for the Sunday night game - That's not really problem in MrNFL, but in MrOfficePool the last game listed is the Tie Breaker. So how do you set it correctly?

Go to "Input stats" and go to the last game of the week (KC @ Jets) and using the dropdown arrows next to each team name change the game to Tennessee @ Indy. Then click the "Previous game" button until you get back to the original Tenn. @ Indy game, and change that game to KC @ Jets.

Well, the "community" site isn't really getting much action - I've removed the link the MrNFL.com site, but will leave the site here for now. I had hoped it would get more use as people are always asking me for formulas etc.

I think what needs to be done is to incorporate it into the program - maybe a direct link to post formulas etc.

Speaking of which, I'm a little unsure of what I'll do next year. I am considering dropping the program, or possibly converting it to an online program, and having it free, but that may be more work than it's worth. I'll see how the rest of the year goes - it looks like with all the supersites on the internet now it's getting too hard for a little guy to get any traffic/downloads/purchases to make things worth while.

Season has started!

Well, it's started. As I've been asked quite often, no I don't give much weight to the picks the program comes up with in the first couple weeks. I look at the stats and even look at the picks but usually if I'm betting, I go more with my gut feeling. I really wait until about week 3 or 4 to "trust" the program more than I trust myself.

but they're not complete. The help files are a pain to put into .CHM format (compiled HTML) - but I'll get it done soo - it isn't much of a problem for non-Vista computers because they include the files needed to read the old format, but for Vista it would require another download so I'm converting them.

MrNFL 2007 is posted here. I may add some additional things to it before the season starts, but have to try and get MrOfficePool and the MrCFB done first. With MrCFB I'm waiting on the schedule, and for MrOP I'm modifying the help file and program so it works with Vista.

This Weekend?...

Didn't get to post the new version last weekend, but I'm hoping to do it this weekend or more likely Monday(it's my wife's birthday, so time will be short).

I ran into a problem with the program not working in Vista (it "mostly" worked, but you couldn't tab from one game to the next for entering lines, inputting stats etc.).

Also, I'm converting the help file to HTML Help, from the old WinHelp because Vista doesn't support WinHelp.
